Man gets three years for having drawings
Sure, the drawings in question are pretty disgusting. But he was sentenced for having comic books.

It’s like we’re on a prison planet where government exists to put people in prison. Land of the free? Home of the brave? “Step away from the comic books and put your hands on your head.”

Any politician who tried to change the law, though, would never win re-election.

Regardless about how you feel here:
The SCOTUS has already held that fictional drawings and animations are not child porn. No real victim, no CP.
Congress passed the same law with slightly different words immediately after that decision.
ALL of these cases go to plea bargains, or get dropped.

I find it disgusting but it’s not exempted from 1A protections.
They need to go after producers of real child porn and real child rapists, punish them with the death penalty for most likely ruining a child’s life.

But then who would they send to the Senate?

Consider that the average age of a female anime protagonist is around 14. Despite often being drawn highly physically mature the girl is still a minor. On the flip side, an old gag is to have girls of age still look really young. Rule 34 can get anyone into serious trouble as a result of this. I shudder to think of how many guys have some a few old hentai images from Sailor Moon or Neon Genesis Evangelion sitting around on their HDs waiting for the Feds to find them.
