I’ve thought the same thing time and time again about addressing a judge as “your honor” when there are many cases of them behaving with anything but. I’ve witnessed a number of judges who were biased, bigoted, drunk and otherwise completely out of control yelling and screaming at defendants and witnesses alike, and getting completely bent out of shape when some refers them as “Judge so-and-so” instead of “your honor”. You’re not God; get the fuck over yourself and remember where you are and who you’re working for (hint: it’s not yourself).
Too many of these people are on power trips, plain and simple.
