I concur
We should just stick with Daylight Savings Time. Of course, it’s probably easier for us eastern time people.
Also, DST is a very confusing concept for an eight year old:
So, everyone just changed their clocks at the same time? And it’s really six o’clock now?
No, it’s really 7.
But yesterday, this would be 6.

Yeah. “Stop touching it”, as Uncle would say.

Man, I’ve been saying this shit for years. It’s way better to have the sun going down late than coming up early. Standard Time is just plain depressing.

I say leave it on DST all year. Can anyone explain why we still follow the archaic practice of changing times twice a year?

Perhaps someone should start one of those White House petitions that never do anything.

Let’s start calling DST by its real name: European War Time. It’s spot-on for the great cities of the east coast. Lots of European things are.
Once you’re across the ridge, things look different. Where I live, on the extreme west edge of EST, we always thought the easy solution would be to join Indiana. And for a long time, we respected Indiana for remaining inviolate, and letting the world change around it. Well, nothing lasts forever, give or take an hour.

Obama thought we needed DST so the farmers would have an extra hour of sunshine and so get a bigger harvest.

I’m all for a one set time and DST would be my preference. Arizona doesn’t change their time so why should the rest of us.

Noon = Sun more or less directly overhead.
DST Noon = Sun ~30 degrees from being overhead.
DST was a joke Ben Franklin told a politician that the politician didn’t realize was a joke and made into law.
This is why smart people shouldn’t tell jokes to stupid people who can pass laws.
Bush had a chance to repeal DST and instead EXTENDED IT. This broke most every clock that automatically changed DST for you, as it had been the way it was for years.
If you like it lighter earlier, move East. Otherwise, stop messing with my damn clock.
