In celebration of gun control’s utter loss
I’m hoisting a whiskey. You should do the same.

I’d aleady poured a drink, what being retired and all. Seems I’m all premonitionatory, or something. Cheers! Let’s all have a drink and take a breath before we take up the battle against never-ending lefty bullshit again.

Just watched NBC nightly news. Apparently the Senate voted down bans on “high capacity ammunition” too, whatever that is…
Good riddance to this poorly written, knavish legislation, let it rest peacefully and forever at the bottom of a trash bin where it belongs.

“utter defeat” may be a bit strong; I’ll be hoisting a glass, but there’s still miles to go before we rest.
April 17th, 2013 at 6:48 pm
my friend, Evan Williams, and I shall make a toast.

No, it’s an utter defeat. With control of the senate and still dancing in the blood of dead children on a bill that supposedly had 90% support from the public, they lost. That’s pretty astounding.

This is just a bump in the road for them, they will never cease to try to disarm us, never, period. To believe otherwise is delusional.
April 17th, 2013 at 7:04 pm
It’s not so much that they’ll never stop trying, it’s just that if they couldn’t pull it off now, they’ll probably never be able to as long as we stay the course. Stay vigilant and all of that, but nothing wrong with celebrating a little bit after the way this has played out.
April 17th, 2013 at 7:09 pm
YAY!!! I am about to get toasted too! 🙂

It’s not over until they win.
But today is a good day.
April 17th, 2013 at 7:35 pm
I’m buying a suppressor, but will have to wait 6 months to a year for my permission slip to be approved by our gov’t masters.
April 17th, 2013 at 7:37 pm
Won the battle(s)but the war on guns still rages on all fronts!
April 17th, 2013 at 7:50 pm
Utter win, hell. Didn’t they get 54 out of 100 votes? That’s way too close.
April 17th, 2013 at 8:38 pm
We need to go on the offensive.
Make CCWs state militia memberships, and issue them each an M-16 for a deposit.

Clan McCallan, 15 yrs old. But both the County nd State lges are considering gun control tomorrow.
April 17th, 2013 at 9:19 pm
There’s nothing wrong in lighting a good cigar and raising a glass of sour mash on the rocks to commemorate winning a battle against the conspirators in D.C. who despise individual inherent rights, freedoms and liberties.
Cheers!

I’m not a hard liquor drinker but.. I did have a Michelob!
Thankfully Obama is a lame duck, with emphases on lame.
I hear previously unknown Benghazi whisleblowers are now talking to Congress. Bet some more bad news is heading Obama’s way.
Pity Obamacare will have to implode by itself and not be repealed before 2014.
Yes alot of things are going to crash on Obama soon so maybe he will have to provoke a war with North Korea to get attention away from our problems (or really, his problems.)

Jim Beam 8 year Bourbon for me here, and a full pipe of tobacco.
Too damn close, but a win is a win. Never give up, never surrender and all that.
April 17th, 2013 at 11:32 pm
Its not enough to win, you must salt the earth, so that the topic never rises again.
April 17th, 2013 at 11:46 pm
Any drink is tasty when spiced with the bitter tears of Leftists.

The McCallan Cask Strength with a spritz of water for me. We win today, but we must keep the fight!

How to make a Liberita:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz tequila
1/2 oz triple sec (Cointreau is recommended)
1 oz fresh lime juice
Lime wedge for garnish
Salt or sugar to rim the glass (optional)
9000 Lefty tears (peacefully extracted or otherwise)
Preparation:
Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
Shake well.
If desired, salt the rim of a chilled margarita glass.
Pour contents, with ice, into the glass.
Garnish with the lime wedge.
Laugh at the fail of the leftist.

The battle is over; the war continues.
April 18th, 2013 at 8:19 am
The battle isn’t over. Reid trying to pull some slick shit by changing his vote. I don’t know the details on how it works but its something about he can bring the vote up again at any time he think he has enough votes.
Does that mean if one day a bunch of repubs are out so they hold a vote? On a holiday bring in enough people to get your shit passed while nobody is looking? Sounds about right for the crap that goes on in dc.
While it is very good news, I won’t rest this year until congress has adjourned. Next year is a whole other story. I hope they have done enough damage obama looses both the house and senate and can’t do shit his last 2 years.
They should have listened to their poster boy Billy C. when he told them not to mess with the 2ndA. But he’s trying to pave the way for his looser wife to run for pres. I guess he wants to be the first lady.

Here’s a link about reid’s no vote. Not a lot of info, but it is still possible for them to revive the Manchin-Toomey bill.

Watching Obama’s speech/rant yesterday evening made me feel like a million bucks.
I explained to my wife that Obama has been using victims’ families as props, that he put all of his political capital toward the passage of a multi-facted gun control piece of legislation, and that, for all of his efforts, he got absolutely nothing.
This was a fairly resounding defeat.
What I don’t understand is why a filibuster-proof vote was needed for this bill. If someone could enlighten me on this matter, I would appreciate it.
I agree that the war never ends and that we need to always be vigilant about people and organizations (including the UN) trying to make our Second Amendment decisions for us.

Something tells me that as the Progressive(*) King, Obama, was frowning, whining, and pointing a condescending finger (always with raised nostrils) at congress and the world, the Founders and Framers of America were high-fiving it donning big grins.
It’s apparent it’s gettin’ hard out there for a progressive wanna-be-remembered Progressive(*) King with no clothes…
(*) American for Marxist…

This guy does a decent job explaining reid’s vote. And just as I thought, we can get screwed at anytime if reid can sway some votes.

Sorry to bust the victory bubble but we haven’t won yet. Don’t let you guard down too soon or next thing you know we are going to have new gun control laws. Like reid said himself, it isn’t over yet.
