Interesting
Dave Kopel wrote a piece for the NYT on Manchin-Toomey. Bloomberg asked that the NYT issue a correction based on Bloomberg’s lies and misleading info on the bill. The times refused. Even they’re not buying it.

Even more interesting: David Cordea claims (in the linked article) that Bloomberg’s accusations were drafted by SAF’s Alan Gottleib!

Rats, sinking ship.
Even NYT is careful how much Obama stink rubs off on them.

What Sam said. I can’t figure out what Alan Gottleib’s angle is. But I hope Allen Gura breaks away from him, cause I suspect Gottleib and his organization don’t survive (from a financial or grass roots organizational aspect) very long through the end of this of course, the conspiracy theorists and strategists might see the delight in which the NRA not only increased its membership, raised huge sums, and further cemented its position as the most powerful player in DC . . . but also was able to take out one of the pesky “nuisance” organizations that they have long viewed as bottom feeding off of their membership $$$.
I suspect Gottleib saw an opportunity to emerge as a major player in the gun control debate and perhaps even as a rival of the NRA. Destroying the NRA and splintering the RKBA crowd was certainly central to the Bloomberg media strategy all along (ie: nearly as many initial articles pronounced things had changed and would happen as announced how weak and ineffective the NRA was. In fact, at one point, it certainly seemed like there were more Bloomberg drafted media pieces on the demise of the NRA as there were on the need to enact gun control).
