1) It’s been over 2 months, has anyone seen any dashcam footage of the incident?
2) Are the cops who fired around 100 rounds into their truck going to be taught how to run a license plate to determine if they have the right truck? (btw, have they released a final bullet count?)
3) Will any of those officers be prosecuted for their recklessness?
4) how much of that $4 million settlement will those individual officers be paying?
5) what happened with the surfer in a Honda truck who also got shot at by the cops?
It will only be a start when the cops responsible have some skin in the game. When each of the parties involved in the judgement against the government entity (local, state, federal) have a significant deductible; patrolman 10K, sergeant 20K, lieutenant 30K, captain 50K, prosecutor 60K, we may see some reduction in stupidity such as occurred here.
It’s LA – the local DA managed to get the Rodney King gang acquitted. As long as a DA cannot be elected without the support of the police union cops are safe from prosecution, and with qualified immunity for acts done in “good faith” they cannot be held liable individually.
Apparently, in California, $4 million is cheaper than having to go toe-to-toe with the police union to actually punish the officers who shot at these ladies.
In self defense.
From behind.
As they were driving away.
The other guy probably was found to have some prosecutable aspect to his situation that was offered to “have it go away” if we “just call it even”.

A big payoff is nice, but I would have liked to have seen prosecutions of the officers involved for reckless endangerment and a host of other charges.

Wrong make, Wrong Model, Wrong Color, Wrong Plate, and operators don’t match the discription of the suspect.
Further I’ve heard accounts claiming no warnings were given to the two unnarmed women before the police began shooting.
This is attempted murder. Period, Full Stop. No justice will be had until those officers face charges.

So what she was awarded $4,000,000? They don’t have to pay, the taxpayers have to pay.
