Interestingly, the guys over at Penny Arcade (video game webcomic and media site) are starting to address the issue of parent education about video games. Their thesis is that parents fall prey to video game fearmongering because they’re ignorant about how video games are marketed, distributed, and played. It sure does. Besides that, the “Weapon Effect” junk-science has been used to attack both firearms and video games.
