Gun rights advocate arrested for allegedly threatening someone. Seems more like “he said, she said” but it could be a case to watch.

The accused shows up regularly in local news articles giving the counter-argument to whatever PSHing hoplophobe has won themselves some spotlight time. He has generally done a nice job, and been fairly responsible. The news made a big deal of his AR being stolen from his car a couple weeks back, with various commenters bleating about “lock the thing in concrete even in car” Because Scary Gun. But at least among those of us who know of him only by reading local press, this sort of behavior would be fairly out of character. ‘Twill be interesting to watch the local smear campaign heat up.

Aposhian is a good guy. As an example of what he’s done, right after Sandy Hook, he taught his Concealed Firearm Permit class for FREE to 200 teachers in a single sitting. He VERY LITERALLY gave away $10,000 worth of classes to Utah educators right there in one go. I might be mistaken, but he might have done that twice. Here in Utah school carry is protected. Like ankle said, he’s very frequently in the news speaking about how things really are. I will not disparage Aposhian and I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on this.
Since no news outlet will show the grass in their front yard, I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that half of a tire screwed up the edging on his lawn next to the drive way. Oh, and HEAVEN FORBID that one car ALMOST touch another car. No, not touch it, just almost touch it.

I was only part right. The second class is just now being offered and it’s in the south end of the state, in St. George.

The initial news media report on this that I read was that he was responsible for the crimes of almost hitting a car and frightening a young girl, neither of which (so far as I can tell) is a punishable offense, even under some of Utah’s more puritanical statutes. Either more evidence has come to light since that story, or the accusers have had a chance to confab and hammer out their One Story to Rule Them All. I’m not sure which alternative I’m willing to believe.

Let me provide some key details which will help every man who has been divorced understand the situation better: The woman in question is his soon-to-be ex, and they are currently locked in a custody battle over their 11 year-old daughter (the “scared girl” in this story).
There’s plenty of conflicting accounts of what happened, so I’m not sure if this is a case of an otherwise good guy losing his head over frustration with a divorce case, or a bitter, lying ex-wife seeking to get a leg up in the custody battle.
