@kateesackhoff: go you.
Seems the actress and the prettiest Starbuck lost half her twitter followers in one day because she spoke about gun safety. And I mean gun safety in the real gun safety way, not the fake way that anti-gun people have tried to make the phrase synonymous with gun control. And she was attacked by her anti-gun following. After the backlash, she got about 40,000 back. You know, the smart ones that can intelligently discuss gun safety.
Good for her for sticking to her guns.

I knew there was something I liked about her. Okay, something ELSE.

I saw this earlier today, so when I got home I checked on Netflix and watched the first episode of her new series Longmire.
First impressions: very enjoyable, but they do get the gun stuff wrong. Katee’s character claims you can buy an AK-47 off the internet, the sheriff’s gun expert claims no one makes a rifle in 45-70 anymore so they need to look for a Sharps and the local store in this little Utah town has sold 3 of them in the past month.

I do enjoy Longmire but I cringe every time they mention gun “registration”. I fear that one day they’ll have the sheriff arrest someone for concealed carry despite the fact that Wyoming has constitutional carry.

Best tv series I have ever seen. Incredible the gulf of excellence from BSG vs the tripe of major media

She didn’t lose any followers at any point. That was just fox news being stupid.

Anal retentive gun minutiae aside, I enjoy the hell out of Longmire and am now following Katy.

ecurb: Being stupid by … not realizing she was joking when she said it?
(IIRC from the screenshots I saw.)
Yeah, Fox is pretty stupid that way.

I don’t twitter much, but I signed up to follow her, b/c you shouldn’t shout at anyone for promoting safety.
Geez, its almost like the anti’s want people to accidentally die from guns.

No love for Montana boy Dirk Benedict? The disco Starbuck?
Hell, he was so pretty they made him the original “Faceman.” And they had to get the “sexiest man alive” just to reprise his role in the A-Team movie.
Y’all need to get a little more sex-positive. =)

Sigivald, not getting the joke would be an understandable mistake, but it takes under 20 seconds to look up someone’s follower history on a twitter stats site. That’s kindergarten-level journalism.
She’d just gotten her 100,000th follower this month, and then gained another 27,000 during the controversy.
