I can’t speak for anyone else, but the reason I got the HK squeezy cocky thingy is my wife. We needed a pistol that would fit her hand (single stack 9mm), was simple to use (all you do is make a fist around the handle and trigger) and was somewhat child resistant (14 pounds to squeeze, but only 2 to hold it in place. I realize that safety resides between the ears, but having a pistol that the younger kids couldn’t squeeze gave her some extra comfort. As for simple, you just squeeze everything. It doesn’t matter if you pull the trigger and then squeeze, do both at the same time, or squeeze then pull the trigger. There is no need to figure out which way the lever goes to make sure it goes bang when you pull the trigger, just squeeze everything. Sure, not for everyone, but it meets my needs.
I love my p7m8. When USPP had them, all they ever did was talk about how great of a pistol it was, even when everyine else was rocking polymer and doublestacks. I bought one this year, and once you get the hang of the squeeze cocker, it really grows on you. Come to DC and you can shoot mine. Just dont load a shotgun while you’re here.
Funny story. Was hanging out at the strip bar at which my friend johnny( names have been changed (as far as you know) to protect the somewhat innocent, when Johnny asked me to go to his house and drain his waterbed. He is my brother, no relation, so of course I said “no problem”.
I did as he asked as the bed was leaking and making a mess.
Seems that as he prepared for work that night he “dropped the hammer on his 1911 by simply pulling the trigger after pointing his firearm in a safe direction. I.E. at the bed.
The Black talon performed exactly as advertised by expanding and stopping within the 12″ thick mattress. Beautiful.
Claims he doesn’t remember the noise of the shot but clearly remembers the sound of the spent shell bouncing off the headboard.
Of course the jolkes ensued including mine which was, ” I’m the rootinest, tooinest, shootinest, ‘Ombre’ north, east, south, or west of the Pacos, and I hates waterbeds.
