With a SIG P226? Seriously? Either he deliberately operated a long, heavy double-action trigger pull, or he was CARRYING IT AROUND WITH THE HAMMER COCKED. Unlike Browning types there is no manual safety for “cocked and locked”, only a decocker. Except on some of the new limited models which have a Browning safety now and I doubt he was issued one of those.
