The best defensive handguns in the world
The list can’t be right. It features nothing chambered in Sacred Cow.

Sacred Cow? You lost me. I see 9mm, .45, and .40. That pretty much covers all the usual suspects.

He means 1911…
You know what’s strange, I have firearms in 32 different calibers and I don’t have one in .40.

Caracal but no Vektor?

Odd they have the Caracal in it, the DWJ testers said it couldn’t get a 3″ inch group at 25 yards, as hard as they tried including handloads.

I have been reading gun magazines since I was a kid and recall the order of “best” as something along the lines of .357 Magnum, “Wonder”nine, 10mm, 45ACP (due to the 10 round limit of the AWB), 40mm, .357Sig, and then pocket sized .32ACPs, .380 and 9mm with a two-finger grip.
The best commenter over there wrote that the best caliber was (1) the one you shot best with, (2) the one you have when you need it and (3)-(10) see above.
I have yet to see a caliber I would prefer to be shot with, and I have yet to see a caliber I would disdain shooting at someone given need to do so, although since forever, the .25ACP has been said to be as useless as a third leg on a bicyclist, so maybe that one.

Ya gotta give him credit for sticking his neck out – ANY such listing (with or without sacred cow)was gonna draw fire..:-)
That said, I own 4 of his 10, so we must think a bit alike, though I disagree with his ordering.

I dont think the Carcal has enough use behind it to putit on the list just yet but from a purly academic standpoint its looking good for the future.
fun fact its got a contemporary in .45acp in a non browning acton :)http://www.forgottenweapons.com/george-wilsons-prototype-45-autopistol/

IMHO, the best defensive handgun is the one that is for you, easy to carry, easy to operate, shoot and maintain, and puts holes in the target.
In a nutshell; Anything that reliably punches holes in a attackers anatomy is a good defensive weapon.
