Brilliant Idea
The Paper Of Making Up The Record says that criminals don’t obey gun laws. So, we obviously need more gun laws.

Well duh. We need law that says criminals have to obey gun laws. Problem solved.

This is just so much crap it’s hard to understand. Criminals don’t obey laws and use guns in NY to commit crimes, so we should have all the other states tighten their gun laws to make straw purchases MORE illegal? How would this prevent crime? Maybe if we ended the welfare state it would be real easy to find the citizens running under the radar without legal professions. (Just being sarcastic to show how idiotic ideas don’t really help find a solution).

I love this “Iron Pipeline” theory, given that this means criminals head down south…they stay on their best behavior while they’re there because those states don’t have the high crime rate we see in the anti-gun cities.
Then they buy a ton of guns and bring them to New York….then they let them season like firewood for 10 years as evidence by the ATF time-to-crime numbers.
Makes sense to me!

One thing i got from the article is that the editor is under the misguided belief that the one-gun-a-month law affected private sales. It did not, it only mattered to licensed dealers.

Lyle,
What we really need is that elected officials and government agents have to obey gun laws…the SAME LAWS THEY HAVE AND WANT TO PUT ON US! You know, according to “the equal protection of the laws” in the 14th Amendment. IF that was applied,it would effectively end most all gun laws
