Well, it was not “pointless”. Its point was people packin’ ain’t welcome, which certainly should be within the rights and powers of a merchant to decide. The merchant should be free to make any stupid rule they like for people to be on their property.
Many businesses behave stupidly these days. Hopefully, the management at McKays brightened up enough to realize that 1) many gun owners have disposable income, and 2) they already had an online competitor which does not care how many guns their customers have concealed about their persons while shopping.

I go to their Nashville store all the time and I have never seen a sign. I carry every time too.
