And yet, they will not want for new customers. Few people even read up on products before going out to buy, let alone researching the background of retailers.
I taught courses under their aegis twice before giving up on them, and never encountered any valuable experience or management skill there. So, taking the long karma, I have faith that they’ll be able to lose their new customers, too. Sometimes you must be patient.
Was at Dick’s in Florida looking for a tent for the beach. Had it in hand at the checkout. The manager was ringing me up. I had $200 worth of junk.
Felt like a complete ass because I forgot that Dick’s dicked us. Told the manager that I forgot and that I wasn’t looking to make a point by bringing something up and then walking away, but I did it anyway. He said he understood. Felt like he was a gunnie, but I won’t begrudge a man who needs a job to take care of the family, even if it’s for those idiots.
For the record, what I actually forgot is what store I was in. I didn’t forget Dick’s; I just forgot that I was inside one of their stores. It wasn’t until I got to the checkout and saw the logo on the shirt that I put it all together.
Random strip mall / random sporting shop in a random beach town. Took me a minute to glue it all together.

Dicks can rot in hell. I am not going to spend any money at their store.
