Can a town pass a gun law so stupid that even the town can’t outstupid it?
This is probably the dumbest gun law ever, passed in Newtown CT:
The ordinance approved last week by the Legislative Council says no resident may shoot for more than four hours after police are notified and shooting is limited to one person at a time. Target backstops are required and must be 10 feet above the target.
No shooting is allowed within a half-mile of a school.
First, this law is just fucking dumb. Next, it obviously is in no way intended to be an effort at reducing gun violence. It’s just punishing law-abiding gun owners, AKA a political enemy.

So once again, the citizen threatened by gunfire is on their own until the police arrive.
This just takes the response time from 20 minutes to 4 hours.
