NYPD decides to shoot a bad guy. Shoots two innocent people instead, including a woman in a walker.
Only the police should have guns. Right, Bloomberg?

NYPD is renowned for having extremely poor firearms training. Growing up in NYC, An NYPD officer drew down on a homeless man who was walking down the street — the draw occurred before any other contact between them. This happened in front of my school. I was in perfect position as the officer’s backstop. I booked it across Columbus Avenue so as to not get shot. This was in the 70’s when NYPD were still taught to start squeezing the trigger on their revolvers as soon as they started coming out of the holster.

The NYPD Chief us named Philip Banks. Fresh Prince’s uncle. I read that name and was thinking “Where do I know that name from?” I am easily amused.

Just more proof that when a cop is shooting, you’re safest if you’re his target.

No wonder they don’t want the public to have guns. They are afraid of return fire.
What happened to repelling force with like force?

The big question is, if a cop starts shooting indiscriminately into a crowd, are you covered by self defense rules if you return fire?
