Well, yeah

“Bloombergism…is merely Democratic Party liberalism stripped of any concern for public opinion,” says Jonathan Chait.

This man is a would-be tyrant that New Yorkers elected thrice. They even amended the law so he could run that third time.

The Peepul didn’t amend the law, Bloomberg and the City Council amended it.

They decided that their subjects couldn’t limit them.

It was really pretty funny to watch, from VA.

The Democrats have concern for public opinion? Here I figured they just used their press to force opinion to be what they wanted.

The truly sad thing is, given the likely next mayor of NYC, people will miss Bloomberg very soon. He was merely louder about being anti-gun than your average NYC politician, but they mostly agree with him on that. He wasn’t stupid enough to tax the only viable industry in the city out of town, which is what his successor says he will do. Also, he has been fairly pro-law enforcement, which all NYC democrat politicians are not. I mean in the “arrest criminals” sense, not the “shoot ladies with walkers” sense. I grew up in NYC when dems were mayor. It was not fun to be mugged somewhat regularly. Rudy came in and that stopped immediately, and Bloomberg has been reasonably good at keeping Rudy’s crime-fighting techniques in place. Of course, if they allowed people to legally own firearms, crime would be even less of a problem. For the record, Bloomberg is a fascist dick. But in a year, people will speak of him like the good old days.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
