And yet, no one was fired
Guerena family gets $3.4M settlement. Gurena was shot when he mistook people breaking into his home who turned out to be police for people breaking into his home.

Funny how they put all the news about the Guerena Family’s IN-LAWS being Drug Dealers at the Bottom, yet they still say they were Raiding the the RIGHT Guerena’s House.
Guess $3 Million+ is cheaper than sending half the P.D. to Prison, huh?

This guy needs to be tarred, feathered, and then unelected. What an asshat.
(Yes, yes, I know. Authorized journalists pick quotes and this buy might have been more sympathetic in the rest of his statements, but there is no context that makes that quote palatable to me.)

“The Pima County Sheriff’s Department strongly believes the events of May 5, 2011, were unfortunate and tragic, but the officers performed that day in accordance with their training and nationally recognized standards,”
And that’s the problem, isn’t it?

There are very important reasons that police officers are almost never disciplined for this type of behavior.
If police officers are held to the same standard (or even close) as the rest of us, then two numerous and heavily influential groups would suffer:
a) Those in power who make law and policy
b) Those who do not want to take responsibility for their own protection.
This is the reason they get away with shooting/beatings/harassment/etc, like the one we’re seeing here. It is also the reason Police are not held to account for perjury in court, which happens A LOT:

If police officers did not feel relatively invincible in the courtroom, they would hesitate to enforce immoral legislation, for fear of legitimate legal reprimand and the elite-class would not be able to actualize their designs.
Similarly, police officers acting under a more fair and reasonable judicial structure might act with more hesitation when called to perform in defense of the weak. For someone with no intention of ever defending himself, this would be a nightmare, thus nearly any police power or privilege must be justified.
The fact is, that most people who are reading this blog fall outside of the two categories above.

They really don’t care how many people they kill. It will only stop when they keep getting forced to pay millions due to their ‘training’.
