The other night, on the bookface, I made a comment about Obama’s administration reversing restrictions on the NSA snooping through your emails and phone calls. And in response to that, I quipped that all I had to say was “allahu akhbar pressure cooker tea party airplane”, riffing on something once said here by NK. My wife saw the post and asked me if I was worried the government would show up at my house over things like that. I said I was not. Then, she reminded they already did that once.

When you violate a provision of the Uniform Firearms Act, which licensing falls under, it’s a misdemeanor crime. Why is there a double standard in justice? Sheriff David is committing a crime each time he does this, each time he unlawfully denies someone a gun permit he could be put in prison.

This is probably the dumbest gun law ever, passed in Newtown CT:

The ordinance approved last week by the Legislative Council says no resident may shoot for more than four hours after police are notified and shooting is limited to one person at a time. Target backstops are required and must be 10 feet above the target.

No shooting is allowed within a half-mile of a school.

First, this law is just fucking dumb. Next, it obviously is in no way intended to be an effort at reducing gun violence. It’s just punishing law-abiding gun owners, AKA a political enemy.
