I’m not fan but to each their own

Defense of the Beretta 92. I find them too bulky. And I read on the internet a kung fu master can take one apart with one hand.

I once owned the Taurus copy of it.

It was a perfectly good pistol, but it also didn’t fit my hand very well (it worked, but never felt “right”).

Traded it for a Tanfoglio CZ-75 clone, which fits beautifully.

If I was stuck with a 92 I would not be weeping bitter tears.

I’m a fan. The B92 was my first love (in the firearm world) and while many different firearms have entered and exited my safe over the years, my B92 remains. I may carry a Glock, or a revolver, but when I’m dressing up, I grab my Beretta. It’s had a lot of “augmentation” over the years, but it is still the best shooting pistol (for me). I wish talking guns and politics had something in common. I wish both were tolerated as great tools if the persons using them are great. If the persons using them are NOT great, they should be hung. The 1911 vs. Beretta argument, the Glock vs. Everything else argument, and the 9mm vs. .40S&W vs. .45ACP argument are about as valid as the gun control side of the argument.

I discovered the 92 in the army and really liked it. Actually traded my RIA 1911 for one. Now the only problem is finding ammo for it.

I own two. The only way someone can breakdown the weapon on you is if you let them get too close to you. You should keep better distance no matter what firearm you have. The 92 is actually a nicely balanced pistol.

I happen to like the only semi auto pistol 92SBC and it has a round in the chamber at all times and the hammer drop is used at my discretion..I feel safe and have been tested with various drops, and the DA/SA trigger is great as I don’t like hammerless pistols..
And it carries or rides in the vehicle good,,sso live and let live, personal choice is what it is about!!

Had a big Mormon kid in my old team that could reach out and disassemble a 92 in less than a second. Even if he failed, the weapon was out of battery and couldn’t function. Didn’t matter, I suppose, the guy was a shaved wookie and if he was that close he was going to hurt you. Didn’t know it was an internet meme though…

Yes, they do fall apart during movie fight scenes.

Gots me a 92FS. You can’t really take it apart like that. Can’t tell you about earlier ones.

  9. JTC Says:

Fat-butted, unbalanced, prone to spontaneous dismantling, no ninja required.

Gimmee a Glock instead, and you KNOW it pains me to say that.

I find myself liking the S&W 5906 for a lot of the same reasons that he likes the Beretta 92. I grew up shooting DA/SA pistols (my first handgun was a Bersa .380 PPK clone), so that mode of operation has always seemed natural.

I would consider switching to a Glock 34 if the engineers could figure out how to lighten the slide without leaving a hole in it, though…

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
