How often are police on the scene before or during a violent crime? When compared to how many police officers there are in this country, the answer approaches zero. Police are 99.999999999999999999% employed in pushing papers, issuing traffic and parking citations or otherwise occupied enforcing arbitrary laws that merely serve to make a select minority feel special about themselves, crowd control, and maybe (a very big maybe) taking notes AFTER a violent crime has occurred. Police as they are and have been organized to operate are entirely useless. What we need is a detective force. I’m not a detective, so I’d be happy to turn the scene of a crime over to one. But I AM a responsible citizen who has the natural right—I deny even the Constitutional civil right—to defend myself and others, if I so choose, from harm. I don’t need a piece of paper or some stranger’s permission to tell me when or where or how I can or cannot defend myself. Likewise, I shouldn’t rationally be expected to wait for police to arrive on the scene of a violent crime already or about to take place. I wouldn’t wait for the fire department to arrive first to see if everyone was out of the house or my neighbor’s house going up in smoke; I’d go in and check for myself if possible. Cops, stop wasting everyone’s time arresting law-abiding citizens for carrying x number of bullets in their magazines, stop wasting everyone’s time pulling people over and handing out speeding or texting-while-driving tickets. Enough already. It’s sheer mindlessness. I might as well pull YOU over and arrest YOU for having a concealed weapon on your person.

THP also, apparently, has found a use for some of the big rigs taken into government possession during arrests in Tennessee.
After all, if the rigs were just sold at auction like other seized items, what fun would that be?

Oh, except the municipalities have discovered them as a revenue source, and managed to sell the shearing to the sheep.

I wonder of those officers have their class b or a commercial license.

So, do the cops still do the “skirt check” while driving these big rigs?
