Like that time I went to a car show and tried to sell quilts

A man tries to sell seeds at a gun show:

Despite the presence of at least five booths of firearms and accessories, many exhibitors are equally dismissive, even derisive, toward guns, gun shows, and the culture surrounding them. John Egger tried to sell seed kits at a gun show once and won’t be returning. Gun show attendees are “a different breed of people. They don’t want to learn.”

Don’t want to learn or are at a gun show to, say, buy guns?

Sounds like someone thought they were at a Ham fest flea market.

Or maybe they they could see and hear the condescension for their beliefs and so chose not to listen to yours

It’s CNN, they had to throw in the dig. It’s that or they get the hose again.

I have seen people selling all kinds of things at gun shows. Beanie babies, clocks, quilts etc. Seems like an attitude problem to me.

I read that article and noted that very same comment. It struck me as odd, given the variety of vendors one can see at our local gun shows. (I live in central Florida and we have some really good gun shows, typically with 600+ tables.) I have to admit, I personally would not seek out seeds at a gun show but… to each his own. Perhaps it was his sales technique? Could be he just didn’t get his story out there (a complaint made by a certain two term POTUS in describing his lack of effectiveness).

So the lecture hall packed full all day, every day for the entire event is somehow ignored as evidence that the attendees might want to learn something?

What were they doing in the lecture hall, hiding away from the overpriced seed salesman?

I’ve worked a pro-gun group table at a few local shows and have tried to educate people on current law, with the books, and they dont accept it.

I would say that’s about 60% of the attendees. And it usually goes with the “Im / My (brother uncle cousin dog) is a cop, and was told XYZ”.

Had to be his sales pitch and/or his attitude. I can see seeds promoted as a survival tool doing pretty well at a fun show as an adjunct to self-sufficiency, but not if his opening was “look at my stuff you ignorant hicks!”.

I’ve successfully sold silver and gold coins at shows many times by packaging and promoting them as real money for when the paper kind is worthless, and that was before the O gave us reason to believe that would be any minute now.

I like unarmed preppers. Someone has to grow the food for the rest of us.

I’ve seen that, too. I think my favorite one was the local politician screaming at me that open carry was illegal while I was 1)at a gun rights rally and 2) manning the table for the state gun rights organization.

Wait was he selling like grade school magical learning adventure seed kits or like society as we know it has ended better become susistance farmer seed kits? Is that made clear anywhere in his comments? cuz what do preper seed kits have to do with learning?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
