In pressure testing of various loads for reloading manuals, they often use a “universal receiver” to which any of a wide variety of barrels can be attached.

A friend of mine and I have a project to do something similar, except semi-auto. Pretty much got everything worked out, just need time to model it up properly and prototype (goal for production is to make it with nothing but a dremel tool, a few hand tools, and some C clamps, although a vice, drill press, and blowtorch would be convenient and useful for ease of production)
