NFL bans gun ad
Daniel Defense wanted to run an ad during the Superbowl. The NFL said no. No guns were highlighted in the ad. Just rights and personal protection.
I don’t watch the NFL other than the Superbowl for the commercials. I’ll stop watching that too.

National Felons League. Gun owners make its member nervous. I had stopped watching it even before it had reinstated Michael Vick.

All the good commercials will be leaked online prior to the Stupid Bowl anyway.

Daniel Defense has that kind of coin for a marketing campaign? Wow.
Meanwhile, he wussification of the NFL continues apace. Keep Rush out, get hammered by nonsense concussion claims, ensure the washed up MSNBC personalities have a place to retire to, make all your guys wear pink for a month…

I’ve been bored of NFL football for years. No reason to go back now.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, NFL hypocrisy, yeah, yeah, yeah, wussification of football, etc. etc. etc.
But pretty much every year since Super Bowl commercials have become a big deal, I see the same pattern: one or more companies come up with a “controversial” Super Bowl commercial, which they submit for consideration. Of course, that commercial gets rejected. Then they go to the media and say “Hey, look at our Super Bowl commercial that got rejected by the NFL!” And the media gives them coverage, they get basically free exposure, and all without paying the costs of an actual Super Bowl commercial.
It’s clever and cynical at the same time. A cheap way to get free publicity for little money.

I wonder how much grease it would take to get SuperBowl sports announcers to repeatedly insert the message during otherwise idle time?

To be 100% fair, it wasn’t exactly a good ad.

Caleb is right of course. No mud wrasslin, no wazzuuuup, no fake Godwin factor (real Godwin factors don’t cut it on Soooper Sunday). Would never have made the cut for the Top Ten Ads specials. Other hand, up on Insty now.
