As a child, I walked, talked, and twice got in fights with siblings in my sleep, completely oblivious that I had gotten out of bed, opened doors, gone from room to room, and not known what I was doing.
My son, in his sleep, has tried to climb out of a 4th floor dorm window to escape something in a dream, side-kicked his bare foot through a bedroom window fighting something in a dream, and made his college room mate nervous by talking in his sleep off and on for several years about “Killing them ALL, before it is too late” while thrashing around with his blankets, unconscious.
I do not keep a loaded firearm in the bedroom for this very reason, and if the sleepwalker in the linked article had no BAC, I believe his story.
