When other people are paying insane prices for .38SPL, .9mm, .30-06, I’m reloading them for pennies a round.
(Helps a lot that I bought components in volume a few years ago when I saw prices start to go up).
A while ago, when ammo of any kind wasn’t to be seen anywhere, I would just go down to the locker and take out whatever amount I wanted to shoot.
No, reloading isn’t for every shooter, but it sure can expand your options. You really don’t need all that much equipment, and most of it doesn’t have to be that expensive.
I bought a Dilion 550B in 1986, god knows how many rounds of pistol and rifle ammo it has created. The best part is damn near unbreakable. Should anything happen, just call and they send you the parts for free. If I sold it today, I believe I could get more for it now than when I bought it.
Been reloading on a Lee turret press for 30+ years.
Dang thing still works fine.
Cheap? Yea in cost. But I have saved money my whole life by reloading my ammo. .380, 9mm, .38 spl., .357 Magnum, .44 Spl., .44 Magnum, M1 Carbine, .45 ACP. All on one press.
The ammo shortage has never affected me except .22 lr., and I have a good stock of that.
