I don’t know why people agree to those “lose your first amendment rights” provisions in these settlements. In this case at least, he was going to win his suit anyways.

Plaintiffs agree to non-disclosure agreements because they can’t afford the continuing legal fight.
Local/State/Fed governments will defend themselves with all of the resources (your tax dollars) available to them.
Chances are, after the 3rd trial delay, the 5th documentary stonewalling, and of course some possible retaliation, you’ll sign the NDA too if you were in this position.

…and this is in Colorado Springs, of all places! I have seen people open carrying at other political events in Colorado Springs city parks with no trouble. It looks like police training needs to be a bit more in-depth than a “cheat-sheet”, eh?
