Ever wondered why Japan has no gun rights movement?
No, I’ve not wondered that. But that is something to think about.
Of course, Japan is currently amusing itself into extinction.

Gunrights? What are rights? The concept of rights has never existed in Japan. They have 1) what is allowed and 2) what is punished if you get caught. And in the event I need a mortar, I’ll use the money for airplane tickets for me and my family to Greece.

…In the event you or any citizen needs a mortar, you think you’ll be allowed out of the state (or county, or town, or block, etc) without your papers and a good, sanctioned reason?

Individual rights really are pretty much solely owned by the citizens of the United States. Everyone else gets human rights, which apply mostly to groups, and can be denied to any given individual (or any millions to billions of individuals) in the name of public safety, civil society, traditional social roles, etc., etc., etc….
