Registration
Tam: I will write my name and address and the serial number of a gun on this sheet of paper and hand it to you. Then I will leave the room. Using that piece of paper and nothing but that piece of paper, stop me from shooting something with the gun
Oh but it does have another purpose.

Yes, it does have another purpose.
Taxation.
That’s why you register cars, after all. It’s not for safety – it’s so the government can collect a fee (every year) for every vehicle that you own. Just imagine the necessary registration fee that you’ll have to pay to cover each firearm you own. They’ll sell it as “necessary to cover program expenses”. Or, “to aid victims of gun violence”. And, of course, “it’s a small fee. It doesn’t infringe on your so-called rights”.
More and more these days, I fear my government.

The police aren’t there to PREVENT crime in any fashion. Almost everything they do that is “proactive” is concerned with making their job of post-crime apprehension easier.

Nazi Germany used their registration list to take all the guns from Jews, Communist, Gypsies, and everyone else BUT those in the Nazi party.
Fast forward today and substitute Democrat Party for Nazi and you get the picture Tam.
Yes they can prevent you from shooting that gun. They just come with a bunch of armed men and TAKE THEM.
