Valid cultural differences
It’s not politically correct but I’ll say it: Not all cultures are valid. Nor are they equal.

Caleb throws it out there. I disagree a little. Sure, the video game craze helped but the biggest thing that helped save the gun culture; got bad gun laws repealed; and provided the legal community with the truth about the second amendment that got up to the Supreme Court, was Al Gore’s invention of this here internets. Before that, most people thought that the AWB banned machine guns because the left and the press (but I repeat myself) lead them to believe that. People bought that phony creation science that the second amendment was about militias because the left and the press (but I repeat myself) told them that. The internet just kind of got all of us gun nuts together and we, en masse, swarmed the press, who now was putting the news on the internet. And people heard us.
I just discovered Cowboy Chili. And it’s good. And it has beans. And also potatoes.
Looks like Remington has secured $175M in debt, of which $150M will be used to buy existing shares. And the rest will go to capital. I wonder if the $150M buyout is going to the California pension fund that told Cerberus Capital it wasn’t a fan of them owning all those gun companies? And more buyouts are coming.
Cool video:
So, here’s this letter from a supposed gun guy in a TN paper. It touts the Newtown changed things and background checks to loan your family members a gun*. Except I’m guessing Scott Lewis is not a gun owner. Here’s his twitter page with all manner of Moms Demand You Shut Up And Let Them Have A Conversation. He’s also with OFA.
I’m betting the number of guns he owns is roughly zero.
Man, they can’t even buy good astroturf these days.
Via reader Oakenheart.
* What do you think universal background checks mean?
So, a bit back, Jersey City came up with things they wanted gun makers to do in order to get the city’s police business. So, how would some police doing the same impact the gun biz? Not much.
Anti-gun lobbyists out spent pro-gun groups by 7:1. And federally, they lost:
In the year after the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., gun-control groups spent $14.1 million on TV advertising. According to Kantar Media’s CMAG, that gave such groups a seven to one advantage over gun-rights organizations, which only spent $1.9 million.
At the same time, gun-rights groups, led by the National Rifle Association, spent about $6.2 million on lobbying instead of advertising, according to a study by the Sunlight Foundation.
They know where to spend their money.
But kick out anyone who takes them up on having that conversation. Sean got kicked out of their circle jerk.
For selling firearm accessories. I wish they sold magazines, honestly. Then I’d do a subscribe and save to have one P-Mag and one M&P9 mag sent to me each month.
CO shooter was confronted by armed school resource officer:
When an armed school resource officer entered the room, Pierson believed he was cornered and turned his gun on himself, Robinson said. The entire attack lasted approximately 80 seconds and was captured by security cameras.
Lamar Alexander, who’s been running ads on the local radio telling us how conservative he is, has introduced a bill to prohibit people from using their phones on planes since that rule might be going away.
Here’s a novel idea: Let the airlines make their own rules for their own businesses.
The anti-gunners don’t have it:
An effort to crowd-fund a gun buyback for San Jose is less than halfway toward its goal with three days left to go.
The San Jose Gun Buy Back has drawn 36 backers donating a total of $4,369 toward a planned Dec. 14 gun buyback, according to gunbygun.org, the site hosting the crowd-funding effort.
Organizers are hoping to raise $10,000 through the effort, and say that every $100 will take one gun off the street.
The crowd-funding effort is scheduled to end on Dec. 10.
So, they can’t raise $10k? But 90% . . .
So, the shooter in Colorado had strong beliefs about gun laws and stuff. You have to read until almost the end to discover that he didn’t care for Republicans and mocked them for wanting to let people die. Including by gun violence. Being a good Democrat, he probably just took Noted Gun Expert Joe Biden’s advice and fired a couple of rounds from a shotgun into the air.
Is the first anniversary of Sandy Hook. Expect all of the anti-gun groups, who are now realizing they can’t win, to go on a full court press. And literally, I mean the press. That’s who is going to be tugging at the heart strings. Despite opinions on gun control being now at the usual level, the press and anti-gunners (but I repeat myself) might see a spike in gun control support. Shut them down at all levels.
I mean, just today, some kid took a shotgun into a school and injured some folks before introducing his insides to the outside world. All that CO gun control really paid off, right? I mean, this could not have happened. They passes laws! At least the kid took Noted Gun Expert Joe Biden‘s advice and used a shotgun!
A year after Newtown, gun control is basically dead.
I might be worried about his job too.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
