@SenDougOverbey: Leave the law-abiding alone
Bless his heart, the good Senator seems to think that because TN is number two in meth lab busts that we must do something. For the childrentm. That something is requiring me to see my doctor if I come up with the sniffles so I can get a prescription for Sudafed.
Look, Sparky, I don’t care if every other house in Tennessee has a meth lab in it. I don’t. Leave me alone.

I’d wish the worse sinus infection possible on politicians like this.

They restricted sudafed to behind the counter and you were restricted in the amount you are able to buy AND you had to register to do it.
And the price of meth dropped, the purity went up, and the amount on the street increased.
Now they want a prescription for it?

They did that here in Oregon, and I want them all to burn for it.
(They seem to have actually achieved their goal of a significant reduction in “meth lab incidents”, but I still don’t care.
Especially since the biggest source of meth was always smuggled in from Mexico, and only got bigger.
…
But this just goes back to my platform of “legalize ALL drugs NOW.”)

I direct you to a post on ScientificAmerican.com from last February:
“Because the hours of availability of such pharmacies are often limited, it would be of great interest to have a simple synthesis of pseudoephedrine from reagents which can be more readily procured. A quick search of several neighborhoods of the United States revealed that while pseudoephedrine is difficult to obtain, N-methylamphetamine can be procured at almost any time on short notice and in quantities sufficient for synthesis of useful amounts of the desired material. Moreover, according to government maintained statistics, N-methylmphetamine is becoming an increasingly attractive starting material for pseudoephedrine, as the availability of N-methylmphetamine has remained high while prices have dropped and purity has increased.”

This makes the overall price for a box of effective sinus medicine about $100, minimum. Grrrr.

So I’ve got a sinus headache today and need to make an appointment for next Tuesday that includes a copay.

Go f#*k yourself Knothead.

I saw a guide on how to make “difficult to obtain pseudoephedrine from easily acquired methamphetamine”, essentially reversing the meth process. If you have a lab, it may well be worth the effort. You won’t have to leave a dick print at the pharmacy or add the department of anal violation to your Xmas card list.
