Because one thing Americans care about is Italian law
Italy’s cultural minister is butthurt over Armalite’s new ad. And no one cares.

Would be hilarious for them to try and use legal action. Copyright law is rather settled in this country. This is exactly the reverse of Andy Warhol’s Campbell Soup cans.
Pretty sure the picture has been altered far beyond the original.
Also the people who are going to see David are probably not the same ones who use AR-50’s so there is no commercial loss.
Me thinks the Italian minister going to just go pout in the corner.

There’s no copyright on David. Whoever took the original picture might have one. Might.
I’m put off by the fig leaf. WTF? Anybody that puritanical, I don’t want having a gun.

David’s career really took off when he killed Goliath. It’s not like he was some innocent little baa-lamb that would be shocked by weaponry.

If you look think about it David was one of the first recorded Civilian Contractors.

What troubles me is, Armalite apparently has gone PC and apologized.

Michael Williamson’s comment: “Losing the Italian market in functional firearms is like losing the French market in cheap box wine.”

I’m rather disappointed they apologized, and in such an effusive manner at that.
The Italians losing their gos-se over it, though? That’s hilarious.

That’s not really an insult to Italian gunmakers, you know. It may be to WalmARmalite. (Toys AR Us? M-attel16?) Italian guns are beautifully designed, of high quality manufacture, and superior fit and finish.

Soooooo, how much for the semi auto, or extra bolts?

David is just improving on his giant killing weapons. This new one looks more powerful than his old rock and sling. Of course, with the rock and sling, he also had God’s help. God may only have to help him with his aim with this new weapon.

NK — that IS true. The Italians produce some FINE guns. Most of which their own people cannot own, and of the guns they CAN own, very few Italians bother.
Which was kind of the point to the comment.
