Bloomberg says he’ll outspend NRA
Well, good. He’ll be less wealthy and won’t have much to show for it.

Hasn’t he been doing that, already? How’s that workin’ out for ya, Mikey?

I have nothing against a private individual doing his best to stimulate the economy; Lord knows our government is failing at it (not that it is their job, mind you, but they scream about it so incessantly).
I just wish he would find more constructive pursuits for his money. Oh well.

He did that last election cycle and lost big time. If his bought lawmakers (Manchin/Toomey/etc) go down in flames and guns were part of the reason they took that fall, then his money literally becomes toxic. It will be s scarlet letter for swing-district lawmakers.
Bloomberg has but one weapon: his cash. The best thing that could happen is for him to use it and lose anyway.
Customary caveat: This is not forgone, so we need to keep working.

If his arguments were persuasive getting them accepted would not cost nearly as much as he is having to spend.

As someone else… (Weerd I think) pointed out.
If Bloomberg had more money AND public support then how does he lose?
