I know a day trader who bought a new computer, connected it up, logged onto TradeStation, and that was his only use of that computer. Ever.
He had another one sitting next to it that he did all his non-trading record keeping, communications, and data analysis on.
He presumed that using the trading computer for anything else would result in bad things getting on it, one way or another, and this dedicated, single use setup to him seemed the only way to prevent that happening.
