We will tweet them on the beaches, we will tweet them in the air …. Sigh.

  2. Linoge Says:

Well, I think Crimea showed Putin that no one is going to stop him. The only question now is where that red line actually exists.

  3. Paul Kisling Says:

The red line? Are you stupid?

Who do you think started all the shit? Maybe the same assholes who started the shit in Syria by supplying the same guys they kill in A-stan with weapons and training to overthrow the government. The same assholes who did it Egypt,Libya, and Tunisia. All of which are worse hell holes than they previously had been.

Do you want to know how to stop Putin? Its easy. Quit fucking around in Russian Dominated areas..

Ask yourselves this. Would you want Russia funding political extremism in your neck of the woods???

  4. MJM Says:

Eloquently says it all, in two pictures. And, to the Quisling commenter, really, there is no point in saying anything at all.

  5. Paul Kisling Says:

Well that certainly is a mutually exclusive proposition…

  6. SPQR Says:

Paul, under your “rules” we can invade Cuba now right?

  7. Paul Kisling Says:

We can and have. The Monroe Doctrine rules. Does the Bay of Pigs Invasion ring any bells?

Ironic how the Bay of Pigs ended the same way Syria is ending for the US Allies…

Rounded up and shot after being abandoned…

I have not spoken to a single active duty enlisted serviceman, or woman whom believes going into Syria or Ukraine is a good idea.

In fact most of what they say has lots of colorful metaphors and sentence enhancers to refer to those who want to send them to those death traps…

  8. HL Says:

You are seriously invoking The Monroe Doctrine?

I certainly don’t want us to go to war with Russia…but something about speaking quietly and carrying a big stick would have been a good alternative…instead we are blustering loudly while meekly beating our swords into free contraception.

Ukraine is one thing, but if Vlad steps a foot into Estonia…what then? Our weak stance now is encouraging the dissolution of NATO.

  9. Paul Kisling Says:

You act as if the Monroe doctrine is not alive and well today. Who do you see making end roads in this hemisphere? Do you think that if say South Africa decided it wanted to have some Caribbean territories the US would not stop them??? Please.

This might help keep Putin out of Estonia. Don’t try to overthrow the Estonian government in the name of making it a pro-nato/US democracy. Good god what a simple answer!!!

If the US had not stuck its nose into Ukrainian affairs in the first place this would have never happened.

Having failed the same game in Syria the US government was trying some one upmanship close to Russia heart as payback.

Haven’t any of you ever noticed what a colossal goat fuck occurs when the US goes in half assed like it always does??? (When was the last time the US actually won a war? 1865…)

Lets see. What can we do? Supply Ukraine with weapons like in Syria and let Pro-Russian and Anti-Russian troops slaughter each other.. Well that sounds fun…
Humanifuckintarian of the year. Might get a Nobel, obama style, for that.

That is the only alternative to sanctions, or war with Russia (Proxy or other) is to just say fuck it and leave.

I detest people who piss and moan about how something should be done, yet they know there is no winning the situation.
The only thing these people bring to the table is death and blood, and none of it theirs.

The US should never have gotten involved with this at all much less ponder doing something now.

  10. HL Says:

    Estonia joined NATO in 2004.

If Russia invades it, in accordance with the NATO treaty, it’s the same as Russia invading Brooklyn.

If Vlad attacks it, and the rest of NATO doesn’t defend it…NATO ceases to exist.

I assume you would support NOT acting in defense of a fellow NATO member, based on your sermon.

  11. Paul Kisling Says:

Putin will not invade. If Russia wants to squash them all they have to do is stop oil and raw material exports and imports. Simple and easy. Do you think the US is going to come to their rescue to the tune of 1.4 billion euros??? Nope!

Your precious Nato will not be able to do shit. The only thing Nato can do is bomb third world countries that possess no means to fight back.(Oh and handcuff themselves to light posts in case of genocide.)(Would not want to forgive about Nato’s definition of Bravery and Honor.)

    Simply because Estonia talks big does not mean they are big. Going after Russian money like they are terrorists? Seriously what fucking joke. What happens if the Russians start doing the same to the US? What then? Its like I have been saying all along;
poorly thought out ideas are going to cost lives..

  12. HL Says:

Do you think the US is going to come to their rescue to the tune of 1.4 billion euros??? Nope!

Well Sebast, I mean Paul…When I said the bit about ” the dissolution of NATO” in post 8, I think I made it pretty clear I didn’t think the US would defend NATO…Obama has all but said it.

The rest of your screed is just hyperbole, and general confusion between The UN and NATO.

You’re going to get it your way, though. We’re downsizing our military, upsizing our debt, and becoming less of a player on the world stage.

  13. Paul Kisling Says:

You mean the confusion on how Nato troops can be UN troops merely by a change in sop and vice versa, providing those troops belong to a Nato nation???
Yeah I bet that would be a good explanation… Its really hard to see the difference when it only exists in ink…

If those Dutch soldiers were only UN then how was Nato able to intervene in Kosovo??

Since by charter, only attacks on Nato territory can be met with violence…. (Ouch!)

Its because the Dutch troops were classified as a part of Nato…. Same thing in Libya. CIA funded factions were attacked by Libyan soldiers. The US is a Nato nation that means Nato has jurismydicktion.

Either that or you will have to admit Nato broke its own rules, on two separate occurrences, which means it has no legal standing telling Russia what to do…

I would rather the US just chill the fuck out then play World Police in places they do not belong.

(Sound American logic, as follows: Lets go fight in a place where ALL sides hate our guts, and we have no economic ties, because showing them how to half ass at war is smart…)

Maybe we should tell congress that Russia has weapons of mass destruction and we should invade… Because that always works so well….

Exactly how much of the world do you want the US to control unilaterally HL???

  14. HL Says:

Paul, just our 50. I have no desire for empire. But I do NOT want us to fail to live up to our commitments if a fellow NATO nation is attacked.

Vlad is not done snagging free nations. He has already retaken Georgia in the last few years, he is about to have the entire Ukraine as well.

  15. Paul Kisling Says:

Taking a Nato country and preventing a country, from joining Nato are two very different things.

Take a look at Georgia and you will see where Ukraine is going.

Georgia is probably going to end up joining Nato. But not all of Georgia is.

Russian is making strategic moves to buffer itself from Nato’s expansion by annexing heavily Russian populated areas.(Minimizes backlash and rebellion.)

I could think of several reasons one would not want to share a direct border with ones enemies…

All we are seeing is counterbalancing forces at work. The enticement of nations to join Nato, forces Russia to counterbalance the enticement.

If you notice Russia is not being proactive about the whole matter. When things went to hell in Ukraine they showed up. Not before.

It would be different if each country were not attempting to join Nato and Russia just barged in. That would be more like what happened in Libya…

  16. SPQR Says:

Paul, you can’t even figure out when you contradict yourself in sequential sentences can you?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
