Women don’t need an AR-15 because ARs are too complicated

Obama issues an executive order over the Ukraine situation to take the assets and restrict the travel some Russians in the US. And it targets the Russian arms industry. Cue hysteria about arms imports on the internet.
Stand your ground laws are not about race:
But what the study does seem to show is that stand your ground benefits defendants a majority of the time and it matters little, if any, what color the shooter or the victim was.
Society may not yet be colorblind, but stand your ground seems to be.
It should not be a rallying point for racial grandstanding.
Nice.
I liked the BRZ when it came out but was disappointed in the number of ponies.
The AP headline: 16th-century artillery manual shows illustration of ‘rocket cat’ weaponry
Which is not at all what the picture shows.
Unpossible, since guns are banned there. But the press Where Great Britain Used To Be reports that a kid had what appears to be a Umarex 22LR Uzi and some AK-47 parts had a “vast arsenal”. The press also called the plinker a “loaded UZI machine gun”.
Professional kidnapper in Venezuela says he gets his guns from the police:
Weapons are “easy” to get, he said. “We have a contract with some police, and they bring us guns and we give them some bills. Any gun we want.”
Because of that video, I recently learned about the Strizh pistol.
ErgoGrip for J-Frame. I don’t get it.
Looks more like “big boy rules”:
No thanks.
Specs and presser here:
Bison Armory is proud to introduce its latest innovation to the tactical rifle market, the FOREARM SKIN (Patent Pending) – a flexible but rugged cover that quickly zips securely around the forearm (and any rails) of an AR-15 platform rifle. The Skin’s ballistic nylon and neoprene construction protects the forearm and rails from damage and provides the shooter with unparalleled comfort and utility in all conditions.
WHY A FOREARM SKIN? Anyone who has carried an AR-15 in the field knows the ‘joys’ of handling an aluminium forearm for hours on end. The metal gets cold in the morning, so you wear gloves, which inevitably make your hands sweat. Once in the sun, the forearm absorbs heat and slowly roasts your hands until you put your sweaty gloves back on. And if your forearm has picatinny rails, then it’s either gloves all day or hamburger hands. But gloves don’t protect your forearm and rails from damaging impacts and snags on your surroundings. And exposed metal has a way of going ‘clink’ at just the wrong time. The rail covers currently on the market attach to picatinny rails, so if you aren’t running rails, you’re out of luck. And you can forget about comfort in any case, since the covers are all made of hard polymers. They increase the number of edges and perforations that can snag, while leaving portions of the forearm unprotected and doing nothing to promote sound dampening.
Full disclosure, I’m own a very minor stake in Bison. Very minor or they’d be called Foreskins.
Recently, Authority Safes sent me one of their quick access models to review. The model is the Sentry Safe Quick Access Electronic Lock Pistol Safe. Here’s what it looks like:
And here it is will a full sized handgun, extended magazine and a knife:
The pictures don’t do it justice but the safe is very sleek. And it’s solid. It looks nice enough I wouldn’t mind it being visible.
The safe is easy to program. And it opens quickly and quietly. And the buttons light up for visibility and to let you know that you’ve pushed the button. It runs on AA batteries. And has a key as a back up entry in the event the batteries go dead. The safe can be easily opened with one hand in the dark.
For those of you who want a handgun safe, I recommend it.
Update: So, I have a photographer in the house who saw this post. He did this pic in short order:
The AP: A federal judge says that Tennessee must recognize the marriages of three same-sex couples while their lawsuit against the state works its way through the court system.
They got married in other states and the ruling is preliminary.
Well, good. He’ll be less wealthy and won’t have much to show for it.
This is apparently a meme on the gun blogs. Ok, here goes:
A new M4: Because it’s illegal.
A Glock 18: Because it’s illegal
A Cane Gun/Pen Gun/Novelty Gun: Because the novelty factor isn’t worth the PITA it is to get one.
A new minigun: Because it’s illegal and, you know, I couldn’t afford ammo for it.
A new AK-47: Because it’s illegal.
NJ DA asks supreme court not to take the Drake case, the case about residents having to show a justifiable need to exercise their rights.
A bit back, my mother in law bought me some hot sauce she saw somewhere locally. It was called Tennessee Mountain Green and it was quite tasty. It’s good stuff. Not the hottest of hot sauces but definitely one of the more flavorful. I ran out of it and couldn’t seem to find it. But then I remembered this thing called the internet and found Big S Farms. They’re in Knoxville. And I saw they made two other flavors and I got the sampler. The green is still awesome. The Tennessee Thunder is sweeter and not as hot. The Tennessee lightning is more like a pepper sauce than a hot sauce. It’s vinegar and peppers. It’s tasty too.
CT Governor Malloy says to gun rights folks: You lost.
I’m guessing the ban was just the first enemy encroachment in the war on civil rights. And that war isn’t over.
Triple Barrel Blaser Blockdrilling
Slow motion Glock. The frame flexing looks odd and I didn’t realize the takedown lever moved when fired.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
