Gun Porn
Todd has a defense. I don’t know that they need a defense but current wisdom seems to be “one trigger pull is better than two”.
When TN first issued carry permits, I carried Sigs. I carried them for years. The only reason I switched to striker-fired was because my wife couldn’t manage the first DA shot out of the Sigs very well. But then I discovered that I actually started to prefer the striker-fired guns to the Sigs. And that’s what I’ve carried since.
The changes to NICS access isn’t that frightening. However, why maintain a database of those who have been denied? I mean, it’s not like ATF pursues those people in the first place.
If you’re a law-abiding gun owner, former Virginia attorney general Ken Cuccinelli would like to be your lawyer — for less than $10 a month.
Cuccinelli and three partners have launched Virginia Self Defense Law, a firm focused on defending Second Amendment rights. With bargain-basement pricing and a cheeky slogan — “Defending those who defend themselves” — the venture seeks to tap into a feeling among some gun owners that the right to bear arms is under attack.
Shit or get off the pot.
California concealed gun ruling put on hold by appeals court. A right delayed . . .
Meanwhile, the Cali AG has some ‘splaining to do:
The Attorney General’s office was repeatedly invited to participate in this case both by Sheriff Gore’s attorney, and by the plaintiffs. The Attorney General declined to participate in the case, just as she has refused to get involved in similar cases challenging policies in other cities and counties that refused to accept self-defense as justification to get a license to carry a firearm in public to defend yourself and your family.
In fact, when the Attorney General’s office was named as a defendant in some of those cases, it has successfully moved to be dismissed from the cases because the court has accepted the Attorney General’s argument that she is not the official vested with the authority of the state when it comes to administering these licenses – the Sheriff is.
First, H&K was in trouble with their arms laws. And now, Walther:
German companies wishing to export weapons need to obtain an export permit from the German government. This permit is not granted if “the internal situation of the country concerned is in conflict,” according to government rules. More specifically, the policies refer to armed internal conflicts and any suspicion that weapons are being used for “internal repression, or for sustained and systematic human rights violations.” Exports to Colombia, therefore, are prohibited; the country has been mired in conflict for the last 50 years.
NRA ILA says of the administration’s proposed ivory ban:
Any firearm, firearm accessory, or knife that contains ivory, no matter how big or small, would not be able to be sold in the United States, unless it is more than 100 years old. This means if your shotgun has an ivory bead or inlay, your revolver or pistol has ivory grips, your knife has an ivory handle, or if your firearm accessories, such as cleaning tools that contain any ivory, the item would be illegal to sell.
So, astronomical debt, shit going down in Russia, big spending, and every thing else but we have time for this?
The police, who’ve taken an oath to uphold and protect the constitution, are saying they are willing and able to go door to door to confiscate recently banned guns. And bloggers are publishing the addresses of politicians who voted for the gun control bill.
This will get out of hand. And I hope I am wrong.
A bit back, Jim Carrey was busy soiling his panties because a movie he was in (Kick Ass 2) had guns and was violent and stuff? Well, a child actor is smarter than Carrey:
“It’s a movie,” Moretz recently told a reporter. “If you are going to believe and be affected by an action film, you shouldn’t go to see ‘Pocahontas’ because you are going to think you are a Disney princess.”
Not much will happen. But ATF is set to appear before congress to address their botched storefront operations.
I’ve known Rikki Hall for probably over a decade now, via the internet. We’ve met once and shared a meal and conversation with several other K-Town blogging folks. He’s always been cordial and insightful, despite our political differences. And he’s very passionate about his interests, notably TN’s waterways. I’m saddened to hear that he has brain cancer and it doesn’t look good. There will be a benefit in his honor and proceeds go to the Little River Watershed Association.
Islamic terrorists gun down 59 kids. No narrative advancement, no media outcry.
Iranian with Molotov cocktails definitely not a terrorist.
29 dead in mass stabbing in China. Calls for knife bans noticeably absent.
Also, quote of the day: So they revealed Zimmerman is the only person in the USA to have a KSG?
Heh.
Taxes.
Also, why exactly does a washing machine need WiFi?
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
