Campfield on the death of TN’s pro gun bills

As long as Haslam is Governor and Harwell is speaker, pro gun legislation will never get out of the House.
And we just passed a bill allowing guns in bars and churches as well as opening up Carry licenses to military members 18-20 years old.
Nail the sponsors & committee members feet to the floor by requiring promises to expedite these bills at the front of the next session.
IF they won’t, you at least know exactly where they stand.
Why would the government be passing laws re: what is done in a building where a church meets? That would not be within their delegated authority.
Ron W: Church buildings fall under all sorts of laws, from zoning & construction to criminal law.
I suspect most churches have a maximum capacity for safety reasons, set under the same regulation that covers the local football stadium.
And “no killing other humans without a good reason” laws apply equally at workplaces and at Mass.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
