The one niche I really see for the P22, SR22, and little Browning 1911-looking gun is the one that’s a real third rail for advertising: They’re perfect for teaching kids how to shoot handguns.
Regarding the Ruger Bearcat and S&W Kit Gun .22LR revolvers, there is another niche market for them –
Little Old Ladies.
My aged and saintly mother has a .38SPL she keeps in her car in NC. She can shoot it well, but does not like practicing with it because of recoil and noise.
The first time she shot a .22LR pistol was with me on a visit to Texas and she loved it. She immediately asked for a practice revolver in .22LR. Yes, even though .22s are bigger in TX – it is a state-wide paradox – she enjoyed shooting the tiny little things.
