I’m OK, Mary Fallin not OK
A nearly unanimous bill passed both houses for shall certify NFA. The governor of OK vetoed the bill.

So much for her re-election. Ann Richards did the same thing in Texas (vetoed CCW) and lost her formerly rock solid bid to… George W. Bush.
And the rest, as they say, is history.

Can’t they override ?

Fallin got a lot of cred for signing open carry into law. Lately, it’s been the only thing keeping a lot of people loyal to her. This may change things.
Override is an interesting question. The state passed open carry overwhelmingly under the previous governor, Brad Henry. Henry vetoed it. While the initial vote to send the bill to his desk exceeded the numbers necessary to override, it didn’t happen. There was a block of legislators who voted for the bill in order to appear 2A friendly. When they polled the legislature for an override of the veto the votes weren’t there.

OK legislators need their feet held to the fire then, to over-ride this. The NRA should score this over-ride vote and publicize those voting against it.

This is important legislation which needs to be replicated everywhere, iuncluding my state.
The OK legislature needs to override this veto this session.
And no one who values his or her freedoms should ever vote for this RINO again.

Because, you know, people with NFA tax stamps are such a problem in Oklahoma, as well as elsewhere, right?
Notoriously troublesome people, those NFA tax stamp holders, with their FBI background checks and Federal registration…

Thanks Jennifer – I hadn’t seen that yet. This is very good news. Hopefully the senate will step up and do their part.
