Selective enforcement of the law is the first sign of tyranny

Is Obama enforcing the law? Only when it’s convenient for his political ends.

The truth slips out

While no law or set of laws will end gun violence

Well, there you go. Knock it off. Also, he believes in the second amendment . . . but . . .

This has my interest. If it works well, it’s definitely a one stop shop for a versatile scope. CQB for operators operating in operations. Or long range varminting.

Killing constitutional carry

Haslam seems to be trying to do that with odd legislative tricks.  Not sure they’d need to reissue new permits. The believable argument is loss of permit revenue.

On the BLM v. Cattle Rancher

I was paying attention and hoping that this didn’t end in a shooting war. Some info here. It was odd. First, it seemed the BLM was overreaching. Then, it seemed that the guy was not paying the bill that he owed. But the rancher said that BLM was working to destroy his business so he stopped paying them. Regardless, BLM is pulling out:

However, today the BLM said it would not enforce a court order to remove the cattle and was pulling out of the area.

“Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public,” BLM Director Neil Kornze said.

“We ask that all parties in the area remain peaceful and law-abiding as the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service work to end the operation in an orderly manner,” he said.

Afraid of getting shot, I guess. I suspect they’ll be back. I just hope it’s not with tanks and things that start fires.

And, we have a photo of the feds in action. Shameful.

Because they’re not already

In response to constitutional carry, Deputy House Speaker Steve McDaniel said: Every gang-banger in Memphis will end up packing. Can you imagine?

Yeah, they don’t carry guns now. At all.

buy gardening supplies, that’s a drug raid

After shopping at a garden store, a woman was raided by DEA. I recall from reading Lost Rights: The Destruction of American Liberty a few years ago that any purchase of indoor gardening equipment had to be reported to the feds.

So reports NRA-ILA:

WaPo reprints Stevens’ lame article on rewriting the second amendment

As Jeff notes, it’s a reprint. But the WaPo is still butthurt that, darnit, that amendment just doesn’t mean or say what they want it to.

I yammered on about it the last go around.

Stevens’ dissent in Heller is mostly embarrassing.

SIG Sauer sues ATF for calling its ‘muzzle brake’ a gun silencer. It’s the same agency that says pieces of plastic are guns.
