Circular firing squad
Two dozen Miami police fired 377 rounds at two unarmed men in a car. They failed to coordinate. And also hit several unintended targets. Only the police should have guns!

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

I notice the story glosses over the passenger in the car being killed… They get really quiet when it comes to things like that. Like the bravado just vanishes like blood in a gutter.

“The robbery and subsequent shooting of a cop, CBS4 concluded, “sent officers across the county into a state of frenzy.””
Wait a minute, I thought the police were “trained” professionals. Now we learn they were in a frenzy. Generally, frenzy is not something associated with professionalism. You know who almost never go into a frenzy? Private citizens, because they are held accountable for their actions.

I think the rationale among the religiously left (worship of authoritarian government as their Higher Power) would be that since police, who are “the most highly trained and professional”, can do stupid things, then the regular folk will obviously be far less stable and far less responsible.
“If even the police can screw up like that, then it’ll be pandemonium among regular armed citizens.”
Their faith in Earthly Authority is unshakable, even though the same people, in certain situations, have been known to refer to police as “pigs”.
We can square this seeming dichotomy thus; gangsters fight other gangsters, but that doesn’t make them anti-gang. It is the natural outgrowth of gangsterism. It means simply that MY gang must vanquish all OTHER gangs. When the dumb, stumblefuck thugs are on MY side it’s totally cool and I’ll support them no matter what. When they’re against me they are pigs.

In reference to your recent posts, re: in the one case an armed citizen with no other choice acting to save the lives of himself and others from pistol-waving thugs in a Waffle House, and in the other an armed citizen with his kid and lots of bystanders in harm’s way (from him more so than the thugs) with many other choices goes all Captain Vigilante on a couple of purse snatchers, one wonders what might have happened to any armed citizen in the vicinity of this circle of badged wild dogs, were he dumb enough to pull his own piece to try to help instead of getting the fuck out of there as fast as he fucking could.

The government is a gang and they are winning.
