You mean you strip all those cosmetic features off of a gun and it’s still a gun?
Seems like NBC New York’s I-Team (whatever that is) is just now discovering that:
NYU law professor James Jacobs, who has written extensively on gun control issues, praises portions of the SAFE Act, including expanded background checks.
But he says the the assault rifle ban has resulted in a remodeled gun that is no less dangerous – just less scary looking.
“It differs only in how it looks, not in how it functions,” Jacobs said.

Looks like Mr. Jacobs just pulled that realization out of the ‘No Shit Sherlock!’ file. When gun makers follow the law its a loophole.
Remember, it’s just the first step…

Technically it’s beyond the first step KM.
As this is New York’s *second* Assault Weapons Ban.
And they’re already clamoring for a 3rd one.

“It differs only in how it looks, not in how it functions,”
… Will without question be on board for the next round of banning cosmetic features.

As I’ve said here in my beloved Clownifornia in regards to “loopholes” in the law, if the Legislature had intended for AW bans to outlaw AR15s, then they would have written the law to outlaw AR15s. If loopholes in the law exist, it’s because the Legislature INTENDED them to exist.
Drives leftists bonkers when their only defense is to claim that the Legislature is incompetent.

“This is what they always do. It’s just a terrible thing. The gun manufacturers. I just don’t understand them.”
It’s terrible that they comply with the law? Or does she mean that they won’t just roll over and stop selling guns, which is the real goal here?

The freedom haters never say what restrictions will make them shut down their organizations and stop calling for more gun control, because they want total prohibition of private gun ownership.
Any concessions that they get from gun owners, such as agreeing to a ban on private transfers (universal background check), merely move the political football further toward their goal. They should get nothing, and we should demand our rights back – forcefully.
