As I learned from the Tom Cruise thriller “The Firm,” wire fraud charges work in convicting people, and carry long prison terms that can be consecutive.
If there was $1,000,000 in kickbacks/bribes, and 14,000 guns involved, that means the difference in price between retail and contract police sales is at least $70. Since it makes sense that the guy was keeping some $$$ himself, double that to $140 or so price difference.
Officers may be getting their Glocks at around $400 or so, based on retail prices of $559 I’ve seen recently.
A good deal if you can get it. And get away with it.
