Shipping shotguns from there, the trucks have to get through at least 320 miles of Texas before they can leave the state, and then they are in SE New Mexico. To go anywhere useful, they have to travel 425 miles to Louisiana, or further to OK or CO.
Admittedly, those miles are interstate, 70mph or faster, so they have that going for them.
Maybe they can just ship the guns over the Mexican border to drug cartels, like Obama says about all those other US gun sellers.
Or maybe they wanted to be as far away from Obama’s prying eyes as possible, and figured way down in Texas along the Mexican border they would be absolutely free of any federal oversight.
I still don’t see why we’re not getting any in IN. Business friendly, 2A friendly, interstate hub, plenty of machinists and facilities, unless it’s proximity to chicago…
Our speed limits out here in no-where Texas west of San Antonio are mostly 75 and you can drive 80 to 85 without problems.
What you do have down here is gun friendly country and folks. We have twice the FFL’s of the city of Denver in our zip code and town of 12,000 and two NRA board members live in our zip code. Maybe that would be a good reason to have a gun business in the Texas Hill Country. Plus you have a lot of hard working folks, Mexican descent and otherwise who like to work and take care of their families.

Why Eagle Pass in TX?

Good job, Mossberg. Keep it up, gunmakers.
