The Griplight

Fits around the butt of J frame revolvers.

Sorry, I still follow the teaching about lights in a gunfight that I got 41 years ago in the police academy: turning on a light during a search for an armed felon, or during an actual gunfight is just as likely to enable your quarry to take YOUR life as it is for you to take theirs, and maybe more so if they’ve already located you and just need an aiming point.

No lights for me unless I am the designated light-guy on an entry team.

Cute, but if you’re going to increase the grip size to something the size of a K frame, why not just carry a K frame?

The lightweight J frames are more ideal for circumstances where concealment is an overriding factor. If open carry (as Ayoob says is a possibility with this) is possible, I’m thinking an all steel medium or large frame gun is a better choice- more ammo, less felt recoil.

Sure, it’s a neat way to get a light on a J frame, but at the expense of what makes a J frame attractive- the ability to shove it in a pocket where it won’t be seen.

Rivrdog, is it possible tactics (and lights) have evolved over the last 4 decades?

This light won’t ever find it’s way onto my J frame.
I have other guns w/lights but they aren’t a small revo.

    Rivrdog —

Is “Fire Control Sensor”, not “Search Sensor”.

You don’t use weapon mounted lights as FLASHLIGHTS, you use them momentarily to illuminate the target so you can identify it.

Using a WML as a flashlight is as stupid as a ship using their NATO Sea Sparrow illuminators to look for civilian airliners.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
