Much more effective
Remember the dumbest anti-gun ad ever? Well, a retort that is actually common sense:
Update: Well, Moms Demand Hot Action had it pulled. Made too much sense. If you’ve got a link, post it in comments.

It appears that Everytown got YouTube to yank the ad on a copyright violation.

Tell me someone saved it to a server in a free country?

Does anyone know who posted it? We can access their channel to see if they have others or anything about posting it elsewhere.

It appears that Everytown is abusing A DMCA takedown notice. If so, a counterclaim ought to be filled to get it back up in a few days. Then the authors ought to partner someone like the EFF who knows this law well and sue for a cash settlement.

There’s also that it’s not *that* hard to make a parody ad: 1 camera man, 1 man, 1 woman, and a prop-grade gun.
Does Everytown really want to invoke the Streisand effect here?

Parody is a pretty straightforward fair use of any copyright. This is what winning the culture war (for now) feels like.

Post a copy on Liveleak. They are based in the UK.
And put in the notes a link to US SCOTUS decisions concerning Parody.

It looks like this may be a different parody:
August 1st, 2014 at 3:43 pm
Variation:
-boyfriend busts in and pulls (knife/bat/fists)
-attacks girlfriend, she goes down clutching phone
-gunshots sound, guy goes down- there is the (10/12yr old) kid with momma’s gun
-kid picks up phone, “momma’s hurt bad, please come quick”
and again with the same setup but at the end the kid has momma’s smart gun that of course won’t work.

There is a special pleasure in using the opponent’s own words deeds and ideas to defeat him.

Gunny’s Glock ads are a fairly good counterpoint.

Post it on youtube under the name “This Ain’t Everytown, — a RKBA Parody”

“This ain’t Everytown, but it could be your town.”
