Too bad I won’t buy their products
Because bailout. But Dodge is making cars people want to own again.

They DO suck. I have an R/T classic with the 5.7 liter. Read about my problems here:

This is why people won’t buy American cars.

I have purchased two American cars, made in Ohio, that wear the Honda logo, and one with a Toyota logo, made in Kentucky. They all ran just fine.
I have purchased an American pickup truck, made in Canada, that wore a Chevy logo. It’s got 315,430 miles on the odometer and is going Chevy Tough.
My next “American” vehicle will be a Toyota pickup truck, made just outside of San Antonio, Texas. Lots of them run just fine on the roads, all around me, every day.
“American” vehicles come in many flavors. I don’t feel wedded to anything much in buying one versus another beyond than the cost to own one per mile traveled, data on repair & recall frequency & costs, and resale value.

SO will the “new” Fiat Wrangler be #200 pounds lighter
of unwanted, unneeded, unrepairable, “modular” electronic crap?
A manual choke would be a start, maybe even a carburetor, eliminating an “automatic” choke, “camshaft position sensing idle motor”, and all SORTS of fuel injection system knick-knacks.
Now, let’s chat about tail light “assembly” lenses.

I’ll stick with my ’72 Charger and ’96 Jeep. Am tempted to call the Charger my Fiat after the engine is stroked, higher comp heads, a Six Pack and modern suspension. If I ever win the lottery that is.
“Hey man, want to race your BMW against my Fiat?”

I really liked the old Dodge powerplants.
Getting in one however and pulling the door shut gave all the confidence inspiring “thud” of dropping a beer can on the ground.
