If I were reporting this, I’d note that “correlation isn’t causation” very loudly, because at some point crime rates are gonna go up a tick, and when that happens pro-rights folks should really have an argument ready for those calling for more gun control to stop the rising crime rate.
How about we stick with pro-rights arguments and leave utilitarian arguments with dubious evidence out of this?

Correlation may not be sufficient for causation but it certainly is a prerequisite.
Which means another nail in the “blood in the streets” / “gunfights over parking lots” hysteria.
